The competition
The competition takes place during the Saint Ermete festivity in Blera (Viterbo).
Each visitor can express his preferences for painting and sculpture with a votation card.
Preferences are obligatory multiple. This is in order to cancel the impact on the final result of the parental vote: anyone wishing to vote for a relative or friend can do it but is obliged to express, at least three, preferences for both arts.
The number of preferences changes in relation to the number of participating artists.
Cards not having an adequate number of preferences are cancelled, or counted separately. In the first two editions of the prize the presence of these cards has not influenced the final result.
Trophies delivered are metal cups bearing a descriptive plaque about the event and the position earned.
In the first two editions there were two juries. In addition to the popular one, there was a second jury composed by the artists themselves.
This jury was eliminated from the third edition. This is due to the numerous "equal merit" awards that were difficult to manage with the trophies available and also to the dynamics due to the private relations between the artists.
The counting of the cards, carried out by at least four people, as well as the delivery of the trophies, takes place on the last day of the event.
During the event, the art critic Ugo Bongarzoni also delivers the Hermes UB, Euterpe UB, EfestoUB prizes and career awards to deserving long term artists.

IMPORTANT: Any participant (including people connected to him, such as relatives and friends) who causes disturbance to the event (delivery of the works phase, event phase, collection of the works phase, post-event period) and to the curator will be immediately expelled from the competition. If the participant has received a number of preferences such as to be classified among the winners, the preferences will be cancelled and the final ranking will be modified respecting the order of arrival.
